Twenty fantasy races, five sets each, split straight down the middle: 50 hero sets and 50 villain sets. High elves, forge dwarves, tinker gnomes and storm barbarians on one side; liches, dragon tyrants, hags and the things that live in the dark on the other. Every set is a full 12-piece chess set in light and dark — and every piece is a finished fantasy character standing on a transparent background.

Two packs in one

• A chess pack. 100 complete sets, 1,200 sprites, the same twelve filenames in every folder. Swapping a set is a change of folder name and nothing else.
• A fantasy character & monster pack. Ignore the board entirely and you still have 1,200 portrait-ready characters. The king and queen are boss and faction-leader art. The bishop is a caster or priest. The knight is a mounted cavalry unit. The rook is a heavy armoured guard. The pawn is your rank-and-file soldier. Every set ships in a light and a dark colourway, so a faction split is already done for you.

The roster — 20 races

Five distinct sets per race — five different liches, five different dwarves — so a race gives you a whole warband, not one silhouette repeated.

• manifest.json indexing every set with its faction and race, so tooling can filter the pack — "give me every villain", "give me the dragonborn" — without parsing filenames.

Every set, three ways

• pieces-aligned/ — all 12 on a shared canvas with a common baseline. Drop-in ready; start here.
• pieces-tight-crop/ — the same 12 at native resolution, alpha-trimmed. Never resampled, nothing thrown away.
• full-sheet.png — the original 1536×1024 source sheet with all 12 pieces laid out together.

The same names in every set

white_king.png … black_pawn.png, identical in all 100 folders and identical to the Chess Piece Mega Pack — so a project already built against that pack reads this one without a code change.

Why this ships as its own pack

Straight answer, because it affects your layout: these knights are mounted cavalry, so a knight is wider than its own king. That is why this pack is separate rather than folded into the Mega Pack — aligning these sets to that pack's canvas would either letterbox every other set or crop the horses. Filenames still match; just budget for a wider knight cell.

You can't: resell or redistribute the art files themselves — as a pack, as individual files, or bundled into another asset pack or template. Your game built with them is entirely yours.
