Penguin Squad - 3 Rigged, Animated Penguins with Dances - glTF, FBX, Blender
A downloadable asset pack
Three cartoon penguins that slide, flip, waddle and dance. Pebble, Slate and Tuft, each rigged and animated with the same 24 clips, each in a blue and an orange team colour, as glTF, FBX and Blender files. Made for and shipped in Penguin Pitch, a physics sports game where the penguin is the player — watch them dance in the video.
What’s included
- Three original penguins — Pebble, a soft vinyl toy in a team scarf (7,752 triangles, 16 bones); Slate, a faceted athletic mascot with a racing stripe (4,676 triangles, 10 bones); Tuft, a fluffy chick with a wild head tuft (7,172 triangles, 15 bones)
- Two teams — a blue and an orange file for every penguin; another team is two material colours
- 24 clips at 30 fps on every penguin — 16 game moves, 4 full dance routines and 4 transitions
- Three formats — glTF 2.0 (.glb), FBX 7.4 (one take per clip, metres) and Blender (one action per clip): 18 files
- Seamless loops — every looping clip ends exactly on its first frame, so it repeats without a pop
- No textures — flat colour materials, 3 to 5 per penguin, every vertex skinned
The 16 game moves
Idle, Slide, SteerLeft, SteerRight, Powerslide, Boost, Jump, Flap, FlipForward, FlipSide, WallRide, Reverse, StandUp, StandIdle, Waddle and LieDown — a belly-sliding penguin that can also stand up and walk.
The 4 dances
- Waddle Bop (112 BPM) — step-touch, raise the roof, spin and pose
- Ice Fever (104 BPM) — disco point, hip roll, hustle spin
- Robo-Pengu (120 BPM) — robot poses locked on the count, a wave, a turn
- Happy Feet (132 BPM) — tap steps, scissor hops, a tap finale
Each routine is two 16-beat phrases on its own tempo and loops seamlessly, so it sits on any track at that BPM. Four transitions join them up: SlideToDance (a belly slide that glides to a stop and pops up into Waddle Bop), StandToDance, DanceSwitch (Ice Fever into Happy Feet) and DanceStop (back down on its belly).
Engines
- Godot 4 — drop in a .glb; the clips appear in the AnimationPlayer
- three.js, Babylon, PlayCanvas — load the .glb and play its animations
- Unity — the .fbx with a Generic rig (Pebble’s beak, eyes and feet use vertex colour; the README says how)
- Unreal — the .fbx as a skeletal mesh with animations
- Blender — the .blend, every clip an action
Sized for a game where the penguin is the player: about 2.5 m long on its belly, +Y up, origin on the ground. No clip travels: move the object in your own code. Download everything, or only the format you use.
