Card Battler Landscape Expansion - 600 Locations, 10 Realms
A downloadable asset pack
Your cards know who. This is where.
Card art packs are almost all portraits. Heroes, monsters, spell effects — the things that stand in front of a background. So the moment your game needs a place — a region card, a terrain card, a stage backdrop, a node on a map — you are cropping a landscape out of a wallpaper pack that was never square and never meant to be a card.
600 landscapes, drawn square, at the size a card actually uses.
| Tiles | 600 PNGs, every one a different place |
| Size | 512 × 512, 1:1 |
| Realms | 10 folders, 60 tiles each |
| Style | 32-bit era scenery pixel art, one consistent hand |
512 × 512 is the native size of the Card Battler Template's art viewport, so a tile lands at scale 1.0 at @1x and 2.0 at @2x — integer, crisp, no resampling. It is also just a square PNG, so nothing here requires that template, or any template.
The ten realms
- Arcane Spires — wizard towers, observatories, academies, orrery spires, a tower hanging upside-down off a cliff
- Enchanted Wilds — fae woods, glowing groves, spirit gates, canopy walkways, a forest of glass leaves
- Ruined Sanctums — temples, henges, catacombs, drowned cathedrals, an amphitheatre gone to wildflowers
- Frostreach Highlands — glaciers, ice keeps, crevasse fields, blizzards, aurora over a frozen lake
- Ember Wastes — lava rivers, ash deserts, forge-cities, a magma waterfall, a desert of fused glass
- Abyssal Depths — sunken cities, reefs, trenches, wreck fields, an abyss floor with one lit doorway
- Celestial Vaults — sky islands, star bridges, cloud seas, a sky-lake spilling over an island's edge
- Mirebloom Fens — swamps, peat bogs, witchlight marshes, mangrove tunnels, a village of mushroom caps
- Dunelight Expanse — dunes, oases, buried monuments, slot canyons, a sand-drowned harbour of ship ribs
- Hollow Underdeep — crystal caverns, undercities, deep mines, glow-worm ceilings, a cavern lit by a painted sun
They are folders, not just a naming scheme. Drop one into your project and you have a biome.
No two tiles are the same place
Ten realms, sixty tiles each, and every one is its own scene — a different structure, a different hour, a different weather, a different palette. Lay a realm out in a grid and it reads as sixty places, not one place with the sky recoloured sixty times.
That holds across realms too. Nothing in Ember Wastes could be mistaken for anything in Frostreach Highlands, and nothing in either turns up again in Mirebloom Fens.
What people use these for
- Location, terrain and region cards
- Stage and encounter backdrops, blurred or at full strength
- Map and campaign nodes — a run of 60 tiles per realm is enough for a whole biome
- Event and quest card art
- Chapter breaks, loading screens, region select, save-slot thumbnails
- Deck-box and card-back art
Built to sit beside portrait art, not replace it
These tiles are drawn in the same 32-bit pixel hand, on the same canvas, as the character and monster art in this catalogue — so a location card and a creature card in the same hand look like they come from the same world.
They are also cut to the Card Battler Template's art viewport, which is where the 512 × 512 comes from. If you use that template the tiles need no setup at all; if you don't, they are square PNGs and behave like square PNGs.
Try it first
The Arcane Spires realm — all 60 tiles, full resolution, same licence — is a free download on this page. It is a real slice of the pack, not a watermarked teaser.
The rest of the set
All of it is drawn in the same 32-bit pixel hand, on the same canvas, at the same 512 × 512 — so a hand of cards built from any mix of these looks like one game.
And one free companion, for the space behind the cards. Wide rather than square, and free.
Licence
Use it in an unlimited number of projects, commercial or personal. Sell them — no revenue cap, no unit cap, no royalty. Modify anything: recolour, crop, re-slice, composite. No attribution required — credit is welcome, never necessary.
The one thing you can't do is resell the art itself as an asset pack. Ship the assets in your game; don't ship the assets as your product. That single restriction is what makes the rest of the grant possible.
